Here you will find basic information about VAMWA membership for localities and authorities (referred to as “Agencies”) and for engineering firms. For more information and to request a Membership Application, please click here.

For localities and authorities, there are two membership categories based on treatment capacity:

• Agency Members are public agencies with VPDES permitted treatment capacity of at least 5 MGD in the aggregate.

• Associate Agency Members are public agencies with VPDES permitted treatment capacity of less than 5 MGD in the aggregate.

For engineering firms, there are two membership categories:

• Consultant Members are business entities with at least one office in Virginia or are under contract to an Agency Member. This is a limited class of Members, based on a seniority system, that is allowed enhanced participation opportunities (due to capacity and time limitations) in the activities of the Association as invited or permitted by the Board (click here to request details).

• Associate Consultant Members are business entities with at least one office in Virginia or are under contract to perform work for an Agency Member.
